Catalog description

The general course is based on physical principles, with an emphasis on kinetic theory and elementary thermodynamics as applied to gas behavior, heats of reaction and bond energy. Concepts covered include elementary quantum mechanics as applied to spectral phenomena, periodicity and bonding theory. The lab will stress the principles taught in CHEM-11000.
