Catalog description
This course focuses on advanced digital photography workflows and studio lighting practices. Students develop proficiency in advanced scanning, professional printing, and lighting techniques. Through hands-on projects, students work with digital and analog cameras, as well as flatbed and film scanners, to produce images using both natural and artificial lighting in studio and on-location settings. Emphasis is placed on image preparation and advanced, hands-on printing processes unique to contemporary digital workflows. Using editing software, students learn industry-standard file preparation methods for exhibition-quality output across multiple platforms, including inkjet printers, laser engravers, and Risograph printers. The course prioritizes technical precision, material awareness, and critical decision-making to support professional presentation and exhibition standards.
