Catalog description

This course takes a holistic approach to understanding and treating substance use disorders and addictions. Students will explore addiction etiology, stigma, diagnosis, and access to care while critically analyzing assessment and treatment models. Key topics include harm reduction, all pathways to recovery, and family impact. Emphasizing trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and arts-based approaches, this course prepares students to integrate evidence-based, person-centered strategies in substance use treatment and prevention.
