Catalog description

In this seminar, participants examine theoretical approaches over the last few centuries. Through literature that investigates various psychological, sociocultural, developmental, linguistic, embodied, multimodal, critical, methodological, and interdisciplinary lenses , this course introduces students to the academic discourse of self as learner, educator, and researcher. Students will explore theoretical perspectives of the self, community, and the world; the pursuit of equity and justice; and their relationship to ethical teaching, learning, and research. Participants begin to identify theories that resonate with them and apply theoretical elements toward their doctoral benchmark papers.
