Writing: Thinking and Process

Catalog description

This course helps students develop writing and critical thinking skills essential for effective communication - in college, the workplace, and the community. Students move through the various stages of the writing process, including outlining, drafting, feedback, and revision. Writing assignments include exercises, paragraphs, analytical essays, and a research paper. The course engages students through a variety of sources based on the course theme. Ultimately, the course values the act of writing and thinking as critical to democratic citizenship. Students may complete CWRIT 1101 without a lab (3 credits), or with a lab (4 credits) for additional support. The lab consists of 40 additional minutes of class time per week and 5 hours of asynchronous instruction during the semester.
