Advanced English Seminar

Catalog description

The advanced seminar in English offers students the opportunity to combine reading and discussion with an individual final project. Students read widely in the work of one major author in the literary tradition. Students also explore critical pieces that represent different theoretical approaches to literature and see how these pieces illuminate the reading done in common. The advanced seminar in English includes differentiated instruction in which more advanced students will have special leadership responsibilities for various aspects of the course. The subject of the course changes each year. Students majoring in English MUST take this course twice during junior and senior year.
