Catalog description

This course prepares teacher candidates to support secondary students with learning differences through evidence-based instructional strategies and personalized transition planning. Candidates will explore research-based cognitive approaches and apply the princples of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to meet the diverse needs of learners in middle and high school settings. Emphasis is placed on the development of effective Transition Plans that guide students from high school to adult living and through day to day transitions within the educational environment. Candidates will learn to create supportive, inclusive learning experiences that foster independence, egagement, and postsecondary success. (F,S)
