Catalog description

Teacher candidates will take a deep dive into the world of comprehensice literature instruction. Candidates will learn to use formal and informal assessments to identify specific areas of need en each in each component of literacy and collect, analyze, and utlilize data through progress monitoring techniques. A major focus of the course is on evidence-based strategies for teaching students with dyslexia, including the use of systematic, explicit, and multi-sensory methods of instruction. Students will contribute to the development of an IEP.(F,S)
