Catalog description
This course explores the areas and characteristics of exceptionalities, problems in learning, and personal-social adjustment of exceptional children and adults. The course describes services available to persons with disabilities through special education in public schools and other institutions, agencies, and professionals--including employment, housing, and educational opportunities. Ethical issues surrounding individuals with disabilities and handicapping conditions are investigated.(F,S)
