Catalog description

This introductory level course is designed as an overview of the historical background, theoretic underpinnings, and philosophical perspectives of outdoor recreation. Students will research, explore, and discover professional competencies and vast career opportunities within the field of outdoor recreation including outdoor education schools, higher education administration, outdoor-related businesses, environmental education, experiential education, outdoor adventure/guiding services, non-profit, camping industry, adaptive sports, therapeutic recreation, and municipal parks and recreation.
