Catalog description

In this course, teacher candidates will understand the basic learning principles and the importance of multi-sensory instruction. This course will prepare teacher candidates to assess individuals and design highly creative instructional methods and strategies tailored to individual needs, abilities and learning styles. Students will be introduced to methods of teaching content areas through the multi-sensory processes, including visual arts, theatre, music, creative movement and the NC Healthful Living curriculum. Using an integrated thematic approach to instruction, teacher candidates will build a knowledge base for each of the content areas. Competencies are aligned with NCSCS and national standards. Prerequisites: Admission to the Teacher Education Program. (F,S)
