Dance Ensemble

Catalog description

This class is designed to prepare students to perform professionally choreographed dance works in a concert at the end of the semester. The class is movement-based consisting of a warmup followed by creation and rehearsal of dance choreographies. Students will be invited to perform in one or more pieces choreographed by faculty and guest artists, and will research the history and cultural context of each dance form they are learning, as well as the interdisciplinary learning required for collaborative work with other departments on campus. Instructor approval is required. May be repeated for credit, up to 6 total credits. Fulfills Core requirement(s): VPA. No prerequisite required.
