Health Assessment in Nursing

Catalog description

This course provides a systems approach to health assessment by expanding the student's knowledge of physical, cultural, sociological, and nutritional aspects of individuals across the life span. A laboratory setting is used to acquire and refine the techniques of physical assessment. Critical thinking skills are cultivated for the identification of risk factors and other variables affecting health patterns. A focus is placed on effective interviewing, history taking, and collection of health assessment data.
