Elementary Japanese I

Catalog description

This course is designed for students who are beginning the study of Japanese. The instruction is planned to enable students to read the Japanese syllaberies, to understand simple spoken Japanese and to begin developing correct pronunciation. Oral drills and memorization of sentence patterns constitute a large part of the work of this course. Acquisition of a basic vocabulary is of primary importance. Preliminary study of grammar and syntax is undertaken.
