Catalog description

This course studies the history of China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with emphasis on their customs and cultures and the impact on them of modernization, imperialism, revolution, and war. A seminar project and oral report are required of all students.Fulfills Core requirement: Diversity (DIV) and Cultural Elective (CE).
