A survey of the history of the United States from the Peace of Paris of 1763 through the election of 1800. The course will focus on such topics as the causes of the Revolution, its impact on women, blacks and Native Americans, social protest, diplomacy with Britain and France, the rise of the first party system, and early national society and culture.
