Catalog description

Critical Reading: Prose Fiction. A foundational course in critical reading and writing about prose fiction. Students learn the terms and concepts used to analyze literary prose fiction (i.e., novels, short stories) and receive guided practice as they read, discuss, and write about prose fiction from various cultures and historical periods. Emphasis is on developing skills of textual analysis and on writing instruction and practice; students are also introduced to critical sources and learn how to incorporate them into their own writing about prose fiction. Corerequisite(s): WRT 101 .
