Understanding Perspectives
Le Moyne College · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This interactive course encourages students to examine how their perceptions of life events and experiences influence their perspectives. This includes the examination of biases (known and unknown) and how our perspectives influence our relationships with others. Areas of examination include ethics, values and beliefs and how these tenets may influence our perceptions of others. There is a major focus on how to accept the perspectives of others (especially when they differ from our own) by broadening our own thinking, but without compromising one's beliefs and values. This course will encourage students to examine their transition from student to employee in a professional environment where understanding others (fellow professionals, supervisors, customers/clients) perspectives may be paramount to their success in that setting.
