A common question asked of artists through the years- and one that many artist have surely asked themselves. Through readings, discussions (both online and in person), and multimedia presentations, students will explore many facets of this question. How does art generate money? How much are people willing to pay for art? When a work of art (music, theater, visual or otherwise) is popular, does that mean it's not truly "art"? Where do we draw the line between "art" and "entertainment"? These questions and many more will be asked and discussed- but not necessarily answered.
