Catalog description
This course is a continuation of CHN 223. It is a course for students from Nazareth College who have completed CHN 223 and students from other colleges in the consortium who have studied Chinese at the college level for two years. It is a specially designed course which alls all students- Nazareth students in the classroom and students at other colleges from long distance-to access the instructor's instruction simultaneously with the support of synchronized and hybrid technologies. the course continues to cultivate a comprehensive ability of speaking, reading, and writing Chinese beyond the intermediate levels. Specifically, the course is designed to provide students with (1) solid knowledge of Chinese grammar which allows students to understand and express relatively complicated ideas using Chinese; (2) around 400 most used new Chinese characters; (3) ability to communicate effectively with others on everyday topics in Chinese, and (4) a further understanding of Chinese culture and history.
