Physical Chemistry I

Catalog description

The course covers many properties of gases, solutions, and equilibria under the unifying principles of thermodynamics. These principles include the first, second, and third laws of thermodynamics, heat, work, entropy, thermodynamic potentials, calorimetry, and basic statistical mechanics. It also offers an exploration of basic chemical kinetics. The course is offered every other fall semester.
