Catalog description

Provides a refresher in the foundation and knowledge required of the EMT – 1 scope of practice. The EMT – 1 certification is the minimum requirement for ambulance attendants and most entry-level firefighter positions. EMT-1 certification is also required for entry into paramedic training. This refresher program is accredited by the Alameda County Emergency Medical Services Agency. The course provides a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education units or a course completion certificate. Additionally, the course provides skills verification testing that EMTs must complete every two years. 9 hours lecture, 27 hours laboratory. Transfer: CSU. Prerequisite: Proof of California State EMSA or National Registration Certification as an “Emergency Medical Technician.” Certification must be current, or expired less than 6 months. Student may also present 140 Emergency Medical Services Engineering students will benefit from hands-on computing and laboratory experiences in their courses allowing them to learn by doing. The LPC Software Engineering certificate is intended for transfer. Students are encouraged to meet with a counselor early on and refer to the catalog of the prospective transfer institution to determine specific major requirements required for transfer since they can vary from university to university. Career Opportunities Preparation for entry level jobs in Software Engineering generally requires a bachelor’s degree. Software Engineering is a blend of the computer science and engineering disciplines. Software engineers design, build, and maintain software systems and application software that are reliable, affordable and meet customer requirements. Software engineers can develop antivirus programs, mobile applications, computer gaming, and inventory management platforms. Program Outcomes Upon completion of this program, students are able to:
