Catalog description
In this course, students will develop advanced competencies in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW). Students will learn to set up, troubleshoot, and apply these welding processes to low-carbon steel across all positions. Students will gain hands-on experience producing surface, fillet, and groove welds using both hard-wire and flux-cored wire. Students will also interpret filler metal classifications, inspect weld profiles, and prepare materials for destructive testing. Throughout the course, students will apply American Welding Society (AWS) standards to ensure work meets professional industry expectations.
