Respiratory Practicum III

Catalog description

This course provides supervised practicum clinical experience in Respiratory Therapy working directly with patients to practice and refine skills learned in the previous classroom and laboratory settings. Students will rotate to clinical sites to practice more advanced critical care concepts including advanced ventilation modalities, ventilator graphics, troubleshooting the patient-ventilation system, ventilator adjustments to achieve optimal ventilation and oxygenation and non-conventional modes of mechanical ventilation under the direct supervision of licensed respiratory therapists. This course is offered in the fall semester.
