Jazz Ensemble

Catalog description

Students explore the jazz idiom, both through the big-band and combo experiences. Students practice the skills necessary to improvise and to become completely familiar with the jazz style as well as to listen knowledgeably to jazz music. Students with prior saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, guitar, or percussion experience are encouraged to inquire. May be repeated eight times for credit. Jazz training helpful.
