Catalog description
This course introduces the student to theoretical concepts and practical applications associated with the clinical role of a medical assistant. Classroom and laboratory exercises provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to assist healthcare providers with routine and emergent care of patients in ambulatory care. Components of a patient examination are covered. Other topics include specialty practices, confidentiality, scope of practice, standard precautions, and infection control.
