Cardiac Sonography I Lab

Catalog description

Through laboratory experience, students experiment with and actively demonstrate the effects of technical factors and patient positioning, while recognizing normal and pathological waveforms.  Emphasis will be on proper scanning technique, transducer and image orientation, terminology, and system optimization.  Students will perform cardiac ultrasound exams with an introduction to scanning protocols. The lab is supervised by a Registered Cardiac Sonographer.
