Catalog description

Students develop the knowledge and skills needed to recognize and manage both medical and trauma emergencies. The course includes an overview of human anatomy and physiology, hands-on practice with evidence-based emergency care techniques, and opportunities to apply critical thinking while assessing and treating a range of urgent conditions. Emphasis is placed on airway management, bleeding control, patient assessment, and other core EMT competencies. Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) cognitive examination.
