Catalog description

This course introduces students to the specific applications of diesel engines in the light-duty market for powertrains commonly found in passenger vehicles and light duty trucks.  Students will explore engine design and construction, engine management systems, emissions, diagnostics and troubleshooting relative to light duty diesel powered vehicles.  Students will also engage in common service, maintenance, and repair practices on modern light duty diesel engines and related vehicle systems.  This course is designed to assist students to prepare to take the ASE A9 - Light Duty Diesel Engines certification exam.
