Mexican Literature and Popular Culture

Catalog description

This course will focus on the theoretical discourses of the richness of Mexican Popular Culture and on the various cultural manifestations and phenomena of which it is comprised. We will examine narrative, written and visual texts, as well as those that are part of the cultural arts: painting, music, and cinema. We will investigate the cultural production, in which themes, customs, beliefs, celebrations and habits manifest themselves both in the city and in the Mexican rural regions.
