Practicum - Elementary Populations

Catalog description

This course provides an opportunity for an in-depth study of current approaches to assessment as a foundation for identifying appropriate interventions and designing literacy instruction for struggling readers and writers in urban school settings. In supervised experiences, students utilize a range of formal and informal assessment tools and methods to assess and remediate reading and writing development, identify appropriate interventions, design literacy instruction, and involve the learner in self-assessment.
