Mechanics of Fracture and Fatigue of Solids
Lamar University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
This course provides an advanced study of the fracture and fatigue behavior of engineering solids. Students will explore stress and strain analysis, governing equations of linear elasticity, and traditional failure criteria for materials without cracks. The course introduces linear and nonlinear fracture mechanics, fatigue crack growth models, and design strategies for crack-resistant structures.
