Catalog description

This course is intended to build or reinforce a foundation in fundamental mathematics concepts and skills. It includes the concepts of geometry, measurement, probability, and statistics with an emphasis on problem solving and critical thinking. A connection between elementary concepts, state standards, and state testing will be made. This is a course in mathematics that an EC-6 schoolteacher should understand, be able to do, and explain. While it addresses pedagogical content knowledge, it is not a methods course.
