Catalog description

An overview of emerging legal issues, especially those related to the use of force by police and correctional officers. Emphasis will be on municipal and individual officer liability in cases related to tasers, prone position, excited delirium, and other mental health conditions that may or may not involve criminal activities. This course will examine both constitutional and case law.
