This graduate seminar examines human behavior as a critical vulnerability in cybersecurity and homeland security systems, with emphasis on social engineering, insider threats, and decision-making processes. The course examines how human behavior, decision-making, and organizational practices contribute to cybercrime, security failures, and provides prevention strategies. Drawing from criminology, psychology, and security studies, the course explores how individual, organizational, and social factors contribute to cyber risk and security failures. Students will analyze theoretical frameworks, empirical research, and real-world case studies to understand cybercrime, victimization, and prevention. The course emphasizes evidence-based interventions, policy development, and organizational strategies to mitigate human-centered cybersecurity risks in both public and private sectors
