This graduate-level course examines cybersecurity and risk governance as critical issues facing contemporary criminal justice organizations. Students analyze cybercrime, digital threats, and information security using advanced criminological and justice theories, with emphasis on policy development, organizational accountability, ethics, and risk management. The course explores the implications of cyber risk for crime control, public safety, institutional legitimacy, and civil liberties. The course culminates in an integrative project aligned with a capstone or thesis requirement, requiring students to synthesize theory, research, policy analysis, and leadership competencies to demonstrate mastery of cybersecurity and risk governance in the criminal justice context.
