Catalog description

This course explores the causes and patterns of female criminality within the criminal justice system. It examines historical and contemporary theories of women’s offending, including biological, sociological, and feminist perspectives, and analyzes gender differences in crime and victimization. The course also considers the social and legal factors influencing women’s involvement in crime and their treatment within criminal justice institutions.
