Catalog description

This course provides instruction and hands-on experience in the chemical, physical, and microscopic analysis of urine and selected body fluids. Emphasis is placed on renal physiology, urine formation, renal and metabolic disorders, and the correlation of laboratory findings with systemic disease. The course integrates analytical techniques, spectrophotometric instrumentation, method evaluation/ validation, reference intervals, laboratory mathematics, quality control, application of the Westgard rules, and automation.
