Introduction to Hematology and Hemostasis

Catalog description

This course introduces hematopoiesis, hemostasis, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelet disorders, hemoglobinopathies, myeloproliferative neoplasms, acute leukemias, lymphomas, and body fluid analysis. The laboratory component provides hands-on experience in phlebotomy, blood smear preparation and staining, microscopic evaluation, WBC differentials, coagulation testing, and quality control procedures.
