Catalog description

This course is a study of the United States' national government, which includes the different responsibilities and powers of each branch as outlined by the federal Constitution. Additional attention is given to other actors that influence the political process, such as media outlets that inform the public discourse and advocacy groups that impact policy decisions. The relationship between California's local and state governments and national authorities will also be explored while addressing federalism. PREVIOUSLY POL101 ADVISORY: ENGLC1000 or ENG 101 with a grade of "C" or better or equivalent.
