Catalog description

Clinical Skills is a hands-on supplemental course in support of previously presented podiatric specific courses. Students will acquire knowledge of basic clinical skills needed in their clinical training experience. Students will communicate the process and demonstrate proficiency in performing various clinical skills at a level appropriate for the stage of their clinical education. The clinical skills in this course include immobilization options, suturing and hand tie techniques, various types of foot/ankle local anesthetic injections, the use of internal and external fixation devices, basic forefoot surgical procedures, apply offloading and taping techniques, and reading CT’s and MRI’s.
