Clinical Podiatric Medicine II introduces the students to the clinical findings, diagnostic tests, and management principles of common pathologies affecting the adult and pediatric lower extremity. The course builds on the information presented in the Foundations in Podiatric Medicine, Clinical Podiatric Medicine I, and the Clinical Medicine Systems Courses. Clinical Medicine II is segmented into specific topical areas including Sports/Overuse Injuries and Rehabilitation, Rheumatological/Metabolic Bone Disorders and Bone Lesions, Wound and Infectious Disease Management, Skin and Subcutaneous Tissue Lesions, Peripheral Neuropathies and Nerve Injuries, Vascular Disorders, and Pediatric Deformities. As appropriate diagnostic labs are incorporated into the course to strengthen the student’s knowledge and clinical abilities.
