Catalog description

Clinical Podiatric Medicine I covers the basic elements of establishing an appropriate doctor/patient relationship, the components of a history and physical examination, medical documentation, and prescribing various types of medications. Students will be introduced to common office-based labs ordered and the interpretation of the results. The course also covers the fundamental principles/mechanics of common diagnostic tests and the process to interpret the results of those tests. This course prepares students for future courses and clinical rotations in the podiatric specific curriculum.
