Catalog description

This synchronous lecture-based course provides an introduction to infectious diseases with an emphasis on microbiological organisms of importance in human disease. The objectives of this course are (1) to describe mechanisms of virulence of human pathogens, (2) to integrate the interactions between microorganisms and the immune system in human disease, and (3) to identify mechanisms of action of important anti-microbials.
