Internal Medicine III

per rotation There are three four-week rotations in Internal Medicine. Internal Medicine is primarily an inpatient service experience in which students apply concepts of diagnosis and management to hospitalized and ambulatory patients. Experiences focus on areas traditionally identified and related to internal medicine, for example, the pathophysiology of non-surgical diseases and the application of non-surgical diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. Internal medicine experiences take place primarily on general medical/surgical floors and specialty units. Any outpatient experiences will be designed to provide students with an understanding of routine care performed in the physician's office/clinic and will be at the discretion of the Attending/Preceptor.
