Catalog description

This course will examine issues related to migration locally, nationally, regionally and globally. The course will examine the push and pull factors related to migration. It will examine the immigrant and refugee experience, including US immigration policies and practices. Finally, the course will address issues to consider when working with immigrants and refugees. The course will include discussions of historical, economic, political, social, cultural, and climatic factors as they relate to migration. The course will make use of poetry, art, music, recordings, guest speakers, and readings.
