Catalog description
This class traces the experience of colonialism and decolonization during the twentieth century, using case studies to try to understand the big picture of global history and see how historical changes affected the daily lives of individuals. The topics covered will include the impact of the world wars and the Cold War; the circumstances of empire, the processes of decolonization, and the experiences of independence; and the history of local economies in the face of globalization.
