Catalog description

The First-Year Academic Seminar is a foundational course for entering students. Although topics will vary, each seminar introduces students to a variety of perspectives on a particular issue, context, or problem through university-level reading, writing, and discussion. Students will be challenged to understand the central concept through multiple perspectives, with a particular focus on historical and contemporary points of view. These courses are taught by faculty from across the university. All sections are open to all students; however, the course does not count towards any major or minor. The number 130 indicates subject matter related to College of Arts & Sciences related topics. A full listing of course descriptions can be found at www.lasalle.edu/registrar/fysdescriptions
