Multicultural Perspectives on Communication Disorders

Catalog description

This course presents students with topics related to cross-linguistic and cross-cultural differences as they affect clinicians in the field of communication sciences and disorders. Topics include important sociolinguistic concepts, cross-cultural communication, assessment alternatives, and intervention strategies. Non-biased diagnosis and treatment of speech, language, hearing, fluency, and voice disorders across different cultural and linguistic groups are discussed. Number of Credits: 3 When Offered: Fall
