Catalog description

A deep dive into how chemistry is used to create materials that matter, exploring the science of ceramics, colloids, biomaterials, semiconductors, and more. This course connects molecular structure to real-world functions: from batteries and catalysts to medical devices and cosmetic formulations. In the lab, students will get hands-on training synthesizing and characterizing materials, and apply their skills to a materials design project.
